Ok. Almost all of the rumors we’ve heard about the new iPhone turned out true. It’s called the iPhone 3GS (S stands for “Speed”), and actually this new iPhone 3GS looks exactly the same with the original iPhone 3G. Sports a new 3 megapixel camera with autofocus with the ability to record videos in VGA resolution at 30 frames per second, and a new built-in compass. The 3 megapixel snapper have been improved for low-light condition plus added with macro-mode for shooting as close as 10cm. There’s also a simple video-editing application allowing users to trim the recorded videos.
A voice-dial is also added to the feature list. It’s not the first one ever, but it’s obviously good to have. A long press on the home-button will start the voice-command interface.
The built-in compass able to integrate with Google Maps. And also, the accessibility feature will read and speak any text you point at out-loudly.
The new iPhone 3GS now secured by a hardware encryption which will protect user’s personal data. In addition, it’s also packed with the RemoteWipe feature. A new service called Find my iPhone will help users who have misplaced or losing their iPhone, by simply logging in to MobileMe on any browser.
The new iPhone 3GS powered by an improved battery promising 12 hours of 2G talk, 30 hours of music playing, 10 hours of video playing, while stand-by and 3G talk-time is still the same.
The iPhone 3GS will start selling in 19 June 2009 in USA – Canada – France – Germany – Italy – Spain – Switzerland – UK, and expanding to 80 countries worldwide. Available in white and black color version – and sold for US$199 for the 16GB and US$299 for the 32GB, while the original iPhone 3G’s price will reduced to only US$99 for the 8GB version.
